This home was built in 1914 by Frank Hayes, direct descendent of early Superior settler Hiram Hayes, and president of Superior Ironworks. Many of Superior's older residents remember the house as 'The Martin Tea Rooms'. In addition to serving teas, it proved a popular location for weddings and receptions. It currently accommodates a manual therapy studio (PPT) and software development office (iTherapies). Hammond House has been owned by various Carey family members since 1962. The first phase of a major restoration project was completed in 2002. Much of the airy and bold Arts and Crafts style has returned; much work remains. Stay tuned. |
